Perforated surfaces are found throughout architecture from old lattice-works in the Middle East to modern buildings in the West. I thought it would be great to apply to smaller scale jewelry designs and came up with a series of jewelry items including this cube pendant.

The cube is constructed out of bronze-infused stainless steel* that is formed by an additive layer by layer process known as 3D Printing. The process creates a grain which gives the stainless steel it's own unique texture which can be seen in the close-up shots (the cube surface will likely appear much smoother in person). The print is treated with a stain that gives it the dark steel look (the exact color and tone varies from print to print).
I hung the pendant from a long gunmetal chain that measures 24 inches which also has a 2 inch extender chain on the end. The cube itself measures 5/8 of an inch.
*Please note that 3d printed bronze-infused stainless steel varies from print to print but often has more of a bronze undertone than typical stainless steel.
**The last photo shows the stainless steel version. It's included to show the size and the length of the necklace.
